Ayesha Curry is opening up about many things in a new interview. The wife of NBA star Stephen Curry reveals in her new cover story with Working Mother that she battled postpartum depression after giving birth to her and Stephen’s child Ryan.

“I didn’t realize at the time, but after having Ryan, I was battling a bit of postpartum that lingered for a while,” the 30-year-old shared. “It came in the form of me being depressed about my body.”

Ayesha then revealed that her depression led her to make a rash decision of getting a plastic surgery. “The intention was just to have them lifted, but I came out with these bigger boobs I didn’t want. I got the most botched boob job on the face of the planet,” she admitted.

However, it turned out the decision was something that she ended up regretting. “They’re worse now than they were before,” Ayesha went on saying. “I would never do anything like that again, but I’m an advocate of if something makes you happy, who cares about the judgement?”

Ayesha also talked about her daughters, Riley and Ryan. “My own community needs to embrace everyone better. Sometimes I feel like I’m too black for the white community, but I’m not black enough for my own community. That’s a hard thing to carry,” she said.

She went on saying, “That’s why my partnership with CoverGirl was special for me because I felt like I didn’t fit the mold [of a Cover-Girl]… I’m not in the entertainment industry, in the traditional sense. I’m not thin; I’m 170 pounds on a good day. It’s been a journey for me, and that’s why I want my girls to understand who they are–and to love it.”

Ayesha was previously trolled for her comments on “Red Table Talks”, with some people saying that she craved for men’s attention. Amid the backlash, her husband took to Instagram Stories to defend her. Posting a picture of them together, Stephen wrote on the photo-sharing platform, “Proud of you for being authentic and Putting yourself out there not being afraid of the potential bulls**t and nonsense that could and did come at you. Way more positive than negative with all of this. Keep being you. I love you.”
